Last week we broke the news of Hip-Hop legend, Crazy Legs’, maiden visit to India. Legs will be in India for the majority of next week courtesy of 9XO and Zomba. The iconic BBoy from Rock Steady Crew will be performing as well as conducting free workshops in Mumbai and Delhi.
Crazy Legs, himself is excited for his maiden visit to India and hinted at a long-term relationship with the Indian Hip-Hop community while talking about his upcoming tour:
“I’m looking forward to building a sincere and solid relationship with the hip-hop scene of India, as well as with its people and culture.”
Well, we at Zomba can’t wait for Crazy Legs’ first visit to India! Here’s his tour schedule:
26th June (Tue), 4pm – Bboying Workshop at NM College*, Vile Parle (W), Mumbai
27th June (Wed), 6pm – Dharavi Rocks Workshop at St.Xaviers, Mahim, Mumbai
28th June (Thu), 10pm – DJ Set at F-Bar, Mumbai
29th June (Fri), 4pm – Bboying Workshop at Central Mall*, Gurgaon
29th June (Fri), 10pm – DJ Set at F-Bar, New Delhi
There already seems to be a lot of excitement building within the Indian HipHop community around the current Rock Steady Crew President’s first visit. We spoke with B-Boy Ninja of the Slumgods and Shradha from Freak N Stylz. Here’s what they had to say:
B-Boy Ninja (Slumgods):
“As you know, Crazy Legs is the OG of b-boying and the one who took b-boying to the next level. Its great for us that he’s coming to India, as there are a lot of things that we will get to learn from him.We also can’t wait to know about his experiences in breakin’ and want to know how hard it was, to take it global. So, on the whole it really will be dope to see him here!”
Shradha (Freak N Stylz):
“Crazy Legs is a legit old school legend and everyone in the b-boying scene, right from Miami to Mumbai and Detroit to Delhi knows about him! So it’s really exciting that someone of his stature and experience in the art is going to be amongst us. Besides being a legend himself he also spearheads Rock Steady, one of the most famous crews in the world (if not the most famous) which we also love! It’s absolutely crazy and everybody here is just waiting for him. It’s also great because he’s coming down when the b-boying scene is growing, so it just seems like the perfect time!”
